Pearl Pens In Molds...

So if you are like me...
You spend tons of time scrolling through
Etsy & Pinterest...
I see all kind of things I want to try...
And using Molds is one of them...

So fast forward I am in Hobby Lobby,
and I buy a mold kit..
But I stop short of  buying Resin...

I am not fond of using resin...
I am not that great at using resin...
what I am good at is making a horrible mess with resin...
LOL

So I had this wonderful idea...
What if I make my molds
and
 use my beloved Pearl Pens
instead of resin...

So this is my journey into the world of Molds With Pearl Pens...

I used :

Pearl Pens by Viva from Pinque Peacock
Charms from Miriam's Crafting Supplies
Buttons from who knows where... LOL

And here is my attempt:

As you can see my molding skills are pretty raw...
but on this photo you can see i layered the pearl pens...

To give each one a little strength I added clear pearl pen to fill in the back...

So I let the molds dry over night, and you can see the buttons I used to make my molds on the right...

My final products... The clear & glitter wings are molded with pearl pens, and the black and orange is the button...

A side by side view... This of course will not replace my buying charms, but what it will do is give the me option of making it in the colors I want...

In this photo and the next photo, you can see that when the pearl pens are dry they start to pull away from the molds on their own... which is awesome...

The pearl pen shapes were easy to remove...

Top is the original button and bottom is my pearl pen creation...

Most worked out perfectly, a couple need more practice...
Top rows are originals and bottom rows mine...

The skulls did not form completely, because i didn't mix the mold completely...

Like I said, this is a def win for me...
I will not use this for every charm or button I have...
But when i have only one of an item and i want to change the color or need more than one,
this is a great option...
