1 of 130... Birthday Cards...

So I have been making cards for a while...
I have been scrapbooking for over 25 years...

And I usually get request from family and friends...
Can I make them a scrapbook for this person, or that person.
But until now, I have never had a request for cards...
I am not sure why, maybe they just have gotten better... LOL

So my sister Julie texts me, and ask if I can make her a few birthday cards for her co workers...
Believe me, I was excited, I love the challenge...
Then I thought about it and I asked her how many...
She texted me back... around/ or a little more than 130...
I took a minute and I asked her by when did she need them.
She replied over the course of a year...
That was what made me say yes...

The part that fascinated me... was, that I only make cards for people I like and know...
most people do.
I wondered could I make a card for some one I don't know anything about?
Would it come out just as nice?

Why does this matter?
Because when I make a card, the first thing I see is color.
I close my eyes and I think of the person and colors or a color comes to me.

Thus, that is my inspiration.
When I look at people I see color, every one has their own color...
I know it sounds weird, but for me it has always been this way.
So, each card is personal...
and what will be the out come of the card when I don't even know the person?
Well this is my challenge...

The month before, I will get a list of names and I will make a card for each one.
No other details, other than close friend or just co worker.
So aside for January, I will make those cards asap.
But also in January I will get the list of names of those who have Birthdays in February.
So this way she can have them in time.

So this is my beginning of my 1 of 130 Birthday Cards...

Wish me luck...

  3. I definitely feel it's easier to make cards for people I know. Especially if it's a card for a young man... This card would be perfect for any man though. Goodl luck with making all those 130 cards - and what a great chaellenge too!
